Why this site exists
Affordable Healthcare Idaho helps Idaho individuals and families who buy their own health plan understand the alternatives to insurance: direct primary care, health care sharing and discount plans. We explain how each works, what it costs and what it leaves out, so you can decide with the full picture.
The site was started by Graham Kerswell after years of working around healthcare administration and seeing how hard it is for ordinary families to understand what they're paying for. It's built around education rather than a sales script. Every page names its sources and the date its prices were checked.
What we do, and what we don't
- We do: compare the full-year cost of the alternatives with your current situation, explain the written guidelines, and help you join if it fits.
- We don't: sell, quote or recommend insurance. Affordable Healthcare Idaho is not an insurance agency and does not sell insurance. We help individuals and families explore alternatives to insurance, including direct primary care, health care sharing and discount plans.
- We don't: give medical, legal or tax advice.
How we work
Limits first
We go through what an option won't do before we talk about what it costs. Most regret comes from surprises.
Sourced and dated
Prices and rules change. We show the date and the source so you know how current they are.
Honest referrals
If an ACA plan or Idaho Medicaid fits you better, we'll say so and point you there.
Phone-first
We help families across Idaho by phone and video. We don't have an Idaho office and won't pretend to.
How we're paid
There's no cost to talk with us. We may be paid by some of the programs we recommend when someone joins. That doesn't change what we tell you about how they work. Our Referral Marketing Disclosure has the details.
Meet the person you'll talk to on our team page, or see where we help.
Ready to compare?
Tell us who needs care and what you pay now. We'll walk you through the options, including when insurance is the better fit.
