Affordable Healthcare Across Idaho

We help households in every corner of the state by phone and video. Find your town's guide below.

  • Free, no obligation
  • Not an insurance agency
  • Honest about the limits

Statewide, by phone and video

Idaho is big, and a lot of it is a long drive from the nearest specialist. That's one reason the alternatives suit many Idahoans: a virtual primary care membership works the same in Rexburg as in Boise, and health sharing doesn't use a provider network, so you can use the hospital that's closest to you.

We don't have an office in Idaho, and we won't pretend to. We're a small team that works with families by phone and video. Every local guide below covers the nearest hospitals, what's different about that area, and who the alternatives fit there.

Treasure Valley

Boise, Meridian, Nampa and Caldwell sit within a short drive of each other, so most households here have several hospitals and urgent care clinics to choose from.

Eastern Idaho

Eastern Idaho households often travel to Idaho Falls for hospital care, and some go on to Salt Lake City for specialists.

Southeast Idaho

Pocatello is the medical hub for Southeast Idaho, and some patients travel on to Salt Lake City for specialty care.

Magic Valley

Twin Falls is the medical center of the Magic Valley, with smaller hospitals in surrounding towns.

North Idaho

North Idaho households use Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, and many also see doctors across the state line in Spokane.

North Central Idaho

North Central Idaho is spread out, and many trips for specialty care cross into Washington or go to Boise or Spokane.

Health care sharing
Health care sharing ministries are not insurance and are not regulated as insurance. Sharing of medical expenses is voluntary and not guaranteed. Review each organization's guidelines for details, limitations, and state-specific notices.

Direct primary care
Direct primary care is a membership with a primary care practice. Idaho's Direct Medical Care Act (Idaho Code Title 39, Chapter 92) says these agreements are not insurance. A DPC membership does not pay for specialists, hospital care or emergencies.

Not advice
This page is general information, not medical, legal, tax or financial advice. Prices are examples, not quotes; they depend on your household and can change. Affordable Healthcare Idaho is not an insurance agency and does not sell insurance. We help individuals and families explore alternatives to insurance, including direct primary care, health care sharing and discount plans.
